Sound Stories: Mobile App
Helping urban youth lead healthier, more active lives.
Overview
We were challenged by the University of Southern California and Art Center College of Design to tackle physical/mental health challenges for underserved populations in Los Angeles County. Two other teammates and I partnered with the nonprofit MEND to conduct a human-centered design project with their community members. After extensive design research, product iterations, and validation by our stakeholders - our team ended up with a mobile app that tackled specific health challenges for urban youth in the community.
My Role
Design Research, Business Designer. The research phase of this project was completed as a team, with my role including in-context/expert interviews, ideation, prototyping, interaction design, user testing, business modeling, and competitive analysis.
Toolkits
Our team used a combination of methods from IDEO's Human-Centered Design Kit and Frog's Collective Action Toolkit.
